After all the campaigns and all the votes, it has finally come to a result! Australia says YES! Almost 80 cent of Australians voted, and 61.6 per cent of respondents voted that LGBTQ couples should be able to marry. With every state's majority voting YES.
Australians have voted in what is a historic day for social change. Australia is now positioned to join 25 other countries that have granted marriage equality to couples, including the US, Canada, New Zealand and the United Kingdom.
It was perfectly summed up as "Love has had a landslide victory," declared Alex Greenwich, co-chair of the Equality Campaign.
This day represents love's triumph and a step in the right direction. As a company, we are proud to have been a supporter of YES and to see this result means a lot to not only us, but the people in our community and those who we continue to support.
The reaction from Australia and the world is evidence of how amazing this result actually is. Countless individuals and public figures have spoken out in support of Australia's amazing achievement.
As Australians now is the time be proud!
